Skoda Cars we Want in India

Skoda has been slowly expanding its portfolio in the country. The brand which just has a couple of cars in its stable is moving on to new products to offer a wide choice to customers and thus achieve better market penetration. With that being said, there are many cars that the brand can still bring to India to make a much better case for itself in the Indian car market. In today’s article, we will discuss some Skoda cars that we would want to see in India. Let’s go.

Skoda Fabia

Skoda had already launched Fabia Wayback in January 2008 to rival the Maruti Suzuki Swift but it didn't did well so it got discontinued in later 2014. Now, Skoda unveiled its new Fabia a while ago. The product got updated to its 4th generation and now comes with many elements that give it a strong ground in its segment. It is now based on the brand’s MQB A0 platform. This platform helps it come with enhanced dimensions, making it the most spacious car in its segment. The car now gets modern features like dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, Virtual Cockpit, connected car tech, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, digital voice assistant, gesture controls and online-backed navigation. The car even gets buffed-up safety with additions like 9 airbags, Skoda’s Travel Assist and Park Assist and many other features. The car makes for a perfect premium hatchback in the country. Skoda would surely up the premium hatchback game if it decides to bring this to India.

Expected Price - ₹ 7-11 Lakh
Rivals - Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Nexa Baleno, Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza & Volkswagen Polo.

Skoda Enyaq iV

Skoda Enyaq iV is the brand’s first all-electric SUV. The car should be brought to India as it becomes a great choice for people who want to upgrade to electric vehicles but do not wish to settle with cars like MG ZS EV or Hyundai Kona electric but also do not wish to go to the price bracket of Mercedes-Benz EQC. This electric SUV will surely bridge the gap between both worlds and come out to be a unique offering from the brand. This electric SUV comes with a range of close to 520km.

Expected Prices - ₹ 35 - 40 Lakh
Rivals - Hyundai Kona Electric, Mercedes-Benz EQC & MG ZS EV

Skoda Kodiaq RS

Skoda Kodiaq was a good alternative to cars like the Toyota Fortuner and other products that fall around Rs 40 Lakh to Rs 45 Lakh price bracket (on-road Mumbai) but was later discontinued due to the strict BS6 emission norms. The Kodiaq is expected to make its return to the country in the coming time. We want Skoda to bring the RS variant of the Kodiaq as well. This will come out as a budget performance SUV that will surely cater to customers wanting to experience a 2.0-litre TSI engine that is capable of producing 242bhp of power.

Expected Price - ₹ 40 - 45 Lakhs (On-Road Mumbai)
Rivals - Hyundai Tucson, Isuzu MU-X, Mahindra Alturas G4, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner & Volkswagen Tiguan All-Space.

Skoda Octavia Combi

Skoda Octavia Combi is the brand’s station wagon that has been going strong in foreign markets. Skoda even bought the Octavia Combi to India back in 2002 but was discontinued later due to low sales. However, in today’s time where customers are looking for big cars that can offer them a big boot and lots of space, the Combi comes out to be a good choice. With that being said, the Octavia Combi would really excel in the country in its vRS Estate avatar. This performance-focused car would have been a much cheaper alternative to a car like the Audi RS6 Avant, however, the latter stands discontinued. The vRS Estate makes 242bhp with its 2.0-litre TSI engine and 197bhp with its 2.0-litre TDI engine.

Expected Price - ₹  28 - 32 Lakh
Rivals - No One

Skoda Octavia vRS

Skoda has already made available the Octavia RS 245 in the country, however, the current one is based on the previous-gen car. The Czech brand recently launched the new-gen Octavia in the country and we expect Skoda to bring the new Octavia vRS as well. The car will be a perfect blend of luxury, comfort and performance; just like the current one.

Expected Price - ₹ 35 Lakh
Rival - Hyundai Elantra
