Upcoming SUVs Under ₹ 20 Lakhs

I have recieved a lot of queries from you regarding upcoming cars. There a lot of new products that are expect to enter the Indian Market in the coming few years. In this article we are going to take a look at the upcoming cars under Rs 20 lakhs.

Mahindra THAR 5-Door

Mahindra Thar has been a success in the Indian car market. The car has received a good response and the company now wants to bank on this response by bringing the Mahindra Thar 5 Door. This 5 door version will be not have many changes. It will improve practicality and make it a better family car. The ingress and egress will be improved. We might not see a soft top version of this 5 door Thar. As the Thar shares its platform with the Mahindra Scorpio we think that the Mahindra Thar 5 door will use the same platform from the Mahindra Scorpio. The 3-door version of the Thar in its top variant costs Rs 17 lakhs approximate. We expect the top version of the vehicle to be make it in the car under Rs 20 lakhs.
Expected Prices - Rs 15-18 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom)
Rivals - Maruti Suzuki Jimny.

Jeep 7 Seater

The Jeep Compass 7 seater has been recently been spotted testing in India. The car was completely camouflaged and there were 2 test mules followed by a 2021 Jeep compass. Now there are rumors that the Jeep Compass 7 seater will be called the Jeep Commander but there is no confirmation of that from the company. In the international market the teaser was released but there is a chance that we could see people calling it just the Jeep Compass 7 seater. The prices of the Jeep compass will start under Rs 20 lakhs but we expect it to cross the under Rs 20 lakh barrier and touch the Rs 35 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
Expected Prices - Rs 35-40 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom)
Rivals - Ford Endeavour, Hyundai Tucson, Isuzu MU-X, Mahindra Alturas G4, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner & Volkswagen Tiguan All-Space.

Mahindra XUV500

Mahindra XUV500 is expected in India as a Hyundai Creta competition. This is not expected until the launch of XUV700 takes place and the older XUV500 is discontinued. The car will now become a 5-seater and the price of all variants will finish with in Rs 20 lakhs. There are other products like the XUV700 and XUV900 planned which too will have some of its variants under Rs 20 lakhs. With the XUV500 Mahindra might make it a very feature loaded car which could be based on the current gen XUV300. They could also make the XUV500 by shortening the upcoming XUV700 but it might eat into the exclusivity of that product.

Expected Prices - Rs 15-20 (Ex-Showroom)
Rivals - Citroën C5 Aircross, Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Nexa S-Cross, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Harrier, Volkswagen Taigun, Tiguan & T-ROC.

Ford Territory

The Ford territory is a rebadged JMC Yusheng S330. The car has a new Ford grille and alloy wheels. The headlight setup is different and the tail lights have been reworked. It comes with a 1.5-litre turbo charged engine which makes 138 bhp ad 125 Nm of torque. We expect this car to be positioned as a Creta competition but it would be somewhere between where the Hyundai Creta and Tata Harrier lies currently. Rs 15 to 20 lakh is the price range that we might get to see with this C segment SUV come in.

Expected Prices - Rs 15-20 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom)
Rivals - Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Nexa S-Cross, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Harrier, Volkswagen Taigun & T-ROC.
