Kia India has already cemented its foundation in the country with two high-performing products, the Kia Seltos and the Kia Sonet. The brand was in news for testing a seven-seater MPV for quite some time. Some called it the seven-seater Seltos while some called it the seven-seater Sonet. However, the wait is now over as Kia has finally unveiled this seven-seater and it is named the Carens. The brand had revealed the design sketches of the Carens, giving us some hints about what the car could look like. Today, this seven-seater has been fully-revealed. In this article, we will discuss what Kia Carens offers to its buyers in India.

KIA CARENS EXTERIOR DESIGN  


The sketches of the Kia Carens had revealed an aggressive design like other Kia cars. The front fascia gets a smaller grille. The car gets a Y-shaped DRLs integrated into the headlamp design. The side profile of the Kia Carens looks similar to the Seltos. The LED tail lamps with a connecting stripe in the middle give the Carens a very unique appeal.

KIA CARENS INTERIOR DESIGN  


The interior sketches had revealed a dashboard with a big infotainment system. The Kia Carens get premium-looking interiors. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the fully digital instrument cluster give the car a modern appeal. The steering mounted controls on a flat-bottom steering wheel further add to its modern look. The car will be offered in a six-seater and a seven-seater version for buyers to choose from.

SPECIFICATIONS  


The Kia Carens will get the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine that we had seen in the Seltos. The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol will produce 113bhp & 144Nm of torque and is expected to come with manual and CVT gearbox options. The 1.5-litre turbo-charged diesel engine produces 113bhp & 250Nm of torque mated to a manual and automatic (torque converter) gearbox. The Kia Carens is also expected to get the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine will produce 138bhp & 242Nm of torque with iMT & DCT gearbox options.

KIA CARENS FEATURES  


Just like other Kia cars the Carens is also feature-loaded. The car gets a fully digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, an electric sunroof, premium Bose sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, etc. The Carens will play high on safety as well. Features like six airbags and all-wheel disc brakes will be offered as standard with this seven-seater.

LAUNCH AND PRICING  


The just unveiled Kia Carens today has shown what it has to offer. The pricing of this seven-seater from Kia is expected to start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). This car will be competing against Maruti Ertiga and XL6.
